Union Emergency Services' is headquartered at 570 Beakman Avenue East with some
administration functions maintained at Union city hall. This station was
originally built in February of 1992 with room for six apparatus in three bays.
When opened, it allowed all city and rural fire apparatus to be consolidated
into one shared facility.
Two additional bays were added later, increasing the station capacity for
the department's ambulances. At that time, the medical services division
was moved to this station, consolidating all three divisions together.
Emergency response units currently quartered at the station include:
4 structure pumpers, 2 tenders, 1 brush rig, 1 combination brush/foam rig,
2 medic units, 1 combination light-duty rescue/staff vehicle and a utility trailer.
The department also maintains an additional staff vehicle which is typically used by
the department chief on a take-home basis and is not quartered at the fire station.
